Look closer. Look domestic. See how so many Americans standing in all the various airport lines for 2.7 hours seem to just sigh and suck it up.

See how they all cast their eyes down and tolerate the multiple driver's-license checks and the general insanity and the obvious government-sponsored invasions of privacy and the happy perky assaults on our civil liberties because, well, it's for our own good, right?

All in the name of inducing a bogus feeling of protection and safety and never you mind America's hilarious gaping arcade of exploitable opportunities for terrorism, from our huge wide-open shipping ports to the intricately distributed unprotected food supply to our antiquated water systems to a thousand other ridiculously obvious apertures.

And never mind that even tiny raging splinter-cell terrorists aren't so stupid as to try the same vile hijack stunt twice. And never you mind that none of this would've stopped any of the 9/11 thugs. But oh yes, let's fingerprint old ladies from Latvia. That oughta do it.

nz photo babble

Did major work on my travel site today. All the NZ images have been resized and thumbnailed and the basic pages are up. Now I just have to template them all and add notes. That's to 192 seperate pages. Oy.

Baked a bit today too. Made shortbread for strawberry shortcake (yum!) and also another banana nut bread to take to Joe & Merril-lee's. Mom and I went over to their place after dinner so they could see my NZ photos. They were impressed. heh. I don't really think my photos are that great, but at least someone does. Though, yeah, there are a few quality shots out of the 400 I would say...

Oh. I'm hoping to get some sort of verification, but supposedly Joe's friend is related "to the guy who plays the King in the newest movie. He's on magzine covers and stuff." Of course, at first I was all "uhm.. but there are like three people that could be.. maybe four," before I ruled most of them out because they weren't American or on magazine covers XD So unless he means some other movie that came out in December with a King... I'm thinking Viggo. Which would be cool. Nice degree of seperation. Also, then I could see about asking him how he did those photos - was it painting on negatives or prints? Yes, I am an art geek.

Well, it's time to go to bed again. Yay. Working tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to come back and try to finish up those photos and format a few to print out. Then, I owe people icons. Mmm.. Peter Pan..
