hello from Greymouth
Dec. 5th, 2003 01:06 pmI'm sitting here at the Greymouth YHA. Nothing exciting here really. It's sort of Oneonta-ish. I'm probably going to walk down to town center in a little bit - it's a whole.. oh.. 2 minutes from the hostel. I still feel bad about not being able to drive here.. it's not really fair for the hobbit to have to drive all the time :-/ So I'll probably try to make it up in other ways where I can.
How is everyone doing? I miss you all. Well, most of you. Hah. If you're reading this, just drop me a note with a hello so I know who's still floating around, even if you don't have a livejournal account, you can still leave me a note. I'd like to hear from you :)
Last night we stayed at Nelson Lakes, which is fairly painful and bug infested. The Nelson Lakes area is just 5 hostels, the 3 restaurants (with $20 chicken) are in the hostels and thre's a gas station that's closed most of the day. Oy. So glad to leave.
Tomorrow we're going to Haast, which is a really long drive from here. And then we'll be sightseeing in the Frans Josef Glacier area. Should be cool.
