Hello from Wellington!
Nov. 30th, 2003 10:42 pmI think when I get back home I shall be posting a load of backdated entries. In anycase, here we are the night before the world premiere of Return of the King. We've walked past the Embassy and there are already people camped outside. I'm thinking that they might all freeze to death and have to go home. Apparently last year no one did the camp out thing. People are nuts. Well, they have to take a piss sometime and that's when we'll move in. Hah! Kidding. Wait, no I'm not.
Went to Te Papa and a medieval faire this afternoon. Was pretty fun. Wrote postcards, which will be mailed out sometime this coming week.
I have an hour to kill because I bought this timecode and didn't realize it expires today. [facepalm]
So. How are you all doing? I'm great. NZ is lovely. I'm missing some people though. You know who you are. That phone post thing will happen eventually. Maybe in the early hours tomorrow.
Randomly.. I'm thinking how sad it is that the boys can't go out while they're in Wellington because stupid screaming, crying, hysterical fangirls are everywhere. They now pretty much can't function normally and that's crappy. Stupid teenie fangirls. People need to learn some control. And I'm saying this because tomorrow my ears are going to bleed from all the girlies screaming and crying and passing outand getting trampled. That's going to be painful.
Just watched the new "Time Machine" (the one with Guy Pearse) that was filmed in the Schenectady-Albany-Troy, NY area. I never saw it when it came out for some unknown reason, probably because I thought it looked dumb. It was actually pretty decent, if really short with a really confusing ending that, as far as I recall, doesn't resemble the book. Actually, I think a lot of it is different from the book.
Uhm... whatelse. Oh! Elijah Wood is hosting SNL Deember 13th - could someone tape it for me? Pleaase? Will pay for tape and postage when I get back.
Attended the Howard Shore concert last night - it was awesome. Excepting the annoying people with really bright flashes on their cameras. I was basically blinded, so I can't even imagine how the orchestra was fairing. Painful. Really. Oh. But I sat in seat 47. I'm a dork, I know. Didn't see any stars, though apparently Peter Jackson and a few of the cast were there. Spotted Nathaniel Lees (Matrix Revolutions; Xena) a couple times.
Random #2 - I want a Frodo action figure. But one of the Fellowship series, because the new ones look weird. Also, as much as I would like a Legolas figure... they all look really scary and don't look anything like Legolas. Meh.
Okay, hopefully more soon. About the red carpet. And how my ears bled from the high pitched screaming.
