amezri: (damsel in distress)
Tired. It's 3:30. Nearly 5 more hours 'fore I can even think about going home and getting other work done. Don't even want to think about what time bed will be. Actually had breakfast and lunch today. Striving for a light dinner sometime around 9-ish. Around 5:00, I'm gonna have to get my butt over to FACR to scan pictures for an assignment that's due tomorrow.

Things to do this week:
+ upload andyg's pictures to the Number 96 site
+ update darkstar's archive
+ update Golden Nox RP archive
+ work on project(s) for Digital Print

Things to do in the long run:
+ finish darkstar's srchive
+ redesign artistic allusion and astrumignis.com
+ finish evox.net front page
+ finish no96 site
+ redesign Vox Box skins

Above list means I have no free time until... gods know when. Right then. Of course you know, I procrastinate with the best of 'em.

Overheard today:
Girl A: Where's Wales? London or England?
Girl B: I think it's in London.

Wednesday's Angel is directed by Sean Astin aka Samwise aka Frodo's Gardner. Woohoo!

Read Neil Gaiman's journal. It's good for you:
Er, no, I don't read fanfiction.

I think that all writing is useful for honing writing skills. I think you get better as a writer by writing, and whether that means that you're writing a singularly deep and moving novel about the pain or pleasure of modern existence or you're writing Smeagol-Gollum slash you're still putting one damn word after another and learning as a writer.

(I just made that up. I imagine it would go something like: "Oh, the preciouss, we takes it our handssses and we rubs it and touchess it, gollum....no, Smeagol musst not touch the preciousss, the master said only he can touch the precioussss.... bad masster, he doess not know the precious like we does, no, gollum, and we wants it, we wants it hard in our handses, yesss..." etc etc)

...right... this is why I read his books. *G*

Things to download when I get back to my room:
+ "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" by Coldplay
+ Syd/Vaughn gettin' it on in her kitchen. So I can watch it over and over and over... it's a S/V shipper's dream

As I told her, noticed the boy in Anthro of Death that looks like David Anders minus the eyes. It was weird. I kept getting distracted from lecture and looking at him. Speaking of Anthro, may have been able to weasel an episode of Buffy into the course: will be bringing prof copy of "The Body" tomorrow.

I see I've two new friends! Hello to [livejournal.com profile] cheapevilgirl and [livejournal.com profile] hjartad (your lj layout rocks, btw)

J. Michael Straczynski has some comments about the Iraq situation (scroll about 1/3 down the page) . Some excerpts:

If you say it's about oil, that's only part of the picture; if you say
it's about weapons and terror, that's also only a part of the picture.
You have to stand well back from the tapestry and get a good look at
the whole of it to recognize the thing for what it is: an attempt to
redraw the map of the Middle East in its entirety
.
snip...
The bottom line, apart from all this, is very simple: is it the
business of the United States to go out overthrowing governments when
and where we feel like it? Is that really what the Founding Fathers
had in mind when they drafted the Constitution?

Mmkay.. off to review "The Body" and maybe do some web work.

I am, of course, none other than blank verse.
I don't know where I'm going, yes, quite right;
And when I get there (if I ever do)
I might not recognise it. So? Your point?
Why should I have a destination set?
I'm relatively happy as I am,
And wouldn't want to be forever aimed
Towards some future path or special goal.
It's not to do with laziness, as such.
It's just that one the whole I'd rather not
Be bothered - so I drift contentedly;
An underrated way of life, I find.
What Poetry Form Are You?

Or.. If you were not Blank Verse you would be:

If they told you I'm mad, then they lied.
I'm odd, but it isn't compulsive.
I'm the triolet, bursting with pride;
If they told you I'm mad, then they lied.
No, it isn't obsessive. Now hide
All the spoons or I might get convulsive.
If they told you I'm mad then they lied.
I'm odd, but it isn't compulsive.
